Lump has quietly established itself as one of Australia’s premier designers and creators of contemporary art and outdoor sculptures, committed to producing original designs and high quality art pieces in their Melbourne studio. Originally founded by Chris Vassallo and later joined by Timothea Jewell, Lump Sculpture Studio at its essence, is a place where art is essential to the lives of the people who work there, a place where art provides a living, a sense of purpose and an opportunity to keep discovering.
While Lump’s manufacturing will continue at their Fairfield studio, the new store will be a fresh face for the designers of specialty outdoor products. “Opening this space will allow for a more creative collaboration between the designers and clients,” says Lump director Timothea Jewell. “The Lump team is excited at the opportunity to consult with clients on custom design projects in a creative environment. This showroom will allow for original and individualised projects to be realised.”

Lump Studio is a large and well-equipped design and art fabrication space where we design and make decorative screens, light features and sculptures. We specialise in creating original contemporary pieces for both large and small, private and public art projects. And we collaborate with artists, designers and architects to realise and construct their visions. Make an appointment to visit or learn more about the studio, we are looking forward to making something new with you.
At Lump we know too well how much hard work goes into designing and making a sculpture and getting it out into the world for public viewing. What’s more, we understand the enormous effort it takes to run a small business. So it seemed perfect to inject the winning funds from the “Clasp” back into the exhibition in support of both the artists and the traders.
